VitiGEOSS Webinar
Climate services for vineyard adaptation
23rd of March 2023, 14.00 – 15.00 CET, Online
Viticulture and wine production face many challenges as a result of climate change. There is an urgent need for climate information and tools for better vineyard management. VitiGEOSS is working to tackle these challenges by developing an innovative platform that integrates services such as climate forecasts, phenological monitoring and disease management.
This session dives into climate forecasts for the wine sector, how to interpret them, and how these can help the wine sector adapt to climate change. The session also discusses how climate information is implemented in the VitiGEOSS platform, co-developed with three wine users.
The webinar takes place during the three-day Climateurope2 webstival, which brings together different stakeholders from the climate services community. The webstival focuses on “Science and Society Dialogues on Climate Services and Innovation“.
Target audience:
- Viticulture and agriculture stakeholders
- Climate services providers
- Scientific community (in particular climate services, climate predictions, EO, satellite data)
- Other European projects
*during the registration you will find our session on Day 2, break-out session -VitiGEOSS

About VitiGEOSS
The European VitiGEOSS project integrates and improves existing solutions coupling satellite imagery with in-field sensors to increase resolution and reliability of satellite information applied to all aspects of viticulture and specific wine-business operations. In the framework of the project innovative solutions are being developed to support agronomic management aimed at vine cultivation that integrate and improve existing solutions in the field of weather and climate forecasting, phenology, disease prediction and resource optimization.
