
Mastroberardino Società Agricola srl is one of Italy’s most renowned family-owned winery, led by the tenth generation who is focusing on indigeneous grape varieties.
Mastroberardino company is fully committed to traditional cultivation of ancient grape varietals, with ability to blend modern technology with time-tested techniques. The Mastroberardino long term goal has been focusing on wines reflecting the typical characters and notes of the Irpinia territory (located in the province of Avellino – Campania region – Italy). The family owns an extensive network of vineyards in the DOCG’s areas located in different altitudes, starting from 350 meters above the sea level up to 600 meters. The benefit is the high difference in temperature between daytime and night, a unique microclimate in the viticulture scenario.
Contribution to VitiGEOSS
The Mastroberardino role is to support the research in several vineyards planted in different terroirs with the aim to achieve the calibration of phenological and management models. The company will provide data to WP2 to co-design the intelligent services and in WP4 to manage the trial plots.
