VitiGEOSS project has been presented during the session “Advances made in EuroGEO to deliver user-oriented solutions” held within the EuroGEO Workshop and celebrated in an online format on Tuesday 21st of September.

The workshop, organised by the European Commision, was focused on the EO-based solution to support the European Green Deal while bringing the EU community actively contributing to the Group on Earth Observations (GEO). This edition brought together the main European players interested in and working on the promotion and use of Global Earth Observations Systems of Systems (GEOSS), to showcase in four parallel sessions the solutions that some projects are developing within this area.

Project partners from Eurecat, the project’s coordinator, LINKS and the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC), participated in the session and presented VitiGEOSS as a key European project in the agriculture sector, developing an innovative vineyard tool based on the integration of Earth Observation Services and in-field sensors. They gave a general overview about the VITIGEOSS solution and explained the seasonal and sub-seasonal climate predictions, based on the collaboration between scientists and wine sector users, as well as the phenological detection and prediction methodologies using satellite and seasonal data.
